the screws are so small

I wanted to do this for a long time, so I considered it a special treat after finishing my thesis. I got a broken movement to practice tweezer and tiny screwdriver skills and then disassembled, cleaned and re-assembled the Seiko.

With the magnifying visor on, it feels like a different world, or a new dimension. I can get lost in there, so focused on getting a pin to line up or a screw thread to catch.

When I stop and flip the magnification out of the way, the standard scale world feels so big. There is so much complexity hidden on the wrist, and so much more.

This is a Seiko 6309-7040 from the 80s. I bead-blasted the case, and I left the old dial, hands and bezel insert because the aged appearance fits well.
